This St. Stan's graduate, and former Welch Ave.  resident, played four years of varsity hockey under Dick Nolan.  Not known for his skating or stickhandling ability, he came to be nicknamed "Hands of Stone" by his Thursday Night teammates for consistently botching those "golden opportunities" around the net.

But in high school, he did sport the greatest Bobby Clarke grin this side of Philadelphia.  His white locks are the first clue, and his unmistakable square head ranks him as the reigning Polish Prince of Niagara Catholic Hockey.  His name is....Read More

     
Falling between Christmas and New Year, the "Dick Nolan Classic" features a thrilling match up of Bishop Duffy/Niagara Catholic alumni on the ice.

Named after legendary coach Dick Nolan, the Classic pits Team Newhouse (Red) versus Team Mossett (white) in a three period clash of ageless weekend warriors competing for pride, camaraderie and yearlong bragging rights.  Read more...
